I wanted the Magnetic exterior with Camel interior.. For whatever reason that's the only combination Ford doesn't allow. Dealer said to check out the Silver Spruce which does allow the camel interior. Seems a bit lighter than the Magnetic on the Ford site. Will have to see one on the lot to decide.
Something I have come to realize and greatly appreciate with the Silver Spruce color choice (and after close to 1-yr of ownership) is that the color simply does not show dirt as do many other colors. The only real tell-tale of needing a wash is either from dirt/dust collection on the black trim moldings or the window glass. Great color that I often receive positive comments upon from many total strangers, i.e. I've never seen that color, what color is that, etc.
Slightly off topic but somewhat related, I also highly recommend professional ceramic coating of the entire truck and the installation of clear-bra on the full front at a minimum. In my case that was installation of XPEL clear-bra and Ceramic Pro Gold Pkg, as i have never waxed this truck now will ever need to. The color "pops" and has a stellar gloss. Simply a great color choice that for some (agree, not for all) is perfect in many ways. Also the clear bra installation on my black gloss B-pillar post ABS black plastic has protected them against any form of surface scratches (which we all know they are prone to and is quite common).
In terms of its worthiness, albeit not cheap, I've had 2-two incidents involving the XPEL clear bra on my truck, one being a near miss door ding and the 2nd, being someone rubbing front bumper corners with my truck. In both cases, the clear bra itself was torn, peeled back but protected the paint/body and required me to have those two section areas of clear-bra replaced but both resulted in there being no dents and no paint/clear coat damage. Cost to repair was $125 for these two replacements, and far better than a repaint repair of the RF painted bumper corner or worse, the passenger door panel.
Checked back with dealer today and he said they have no update “from Michigan” on the silver spruce paint availability. Wondering if I need to rethink colors now.
If the trucks are built in Kentucky, what’s Michigan got to do with it???
I also checked with Corporate today. I spoke to 2 knowledgeable reps that were pretty helpful. Her system showed ZERO silver spruces in production and wasnt able to see any info on a scheduled start date for SIlver Spruce. She did a pretend order with my specifications and did not have the "late availability" message come up for her. Neither she or the person above her see any info on late availability. Maybe a good sign that the build date will be sooner than April.
Then i called my dealer, still no VIN or any other info. The order status says "material halt" I believe is the phrased he used. Must refer to the paint.

Dealer said he thought Silver Spruce would be available mid January to early February. I ordered
9-20 so definitely feel like I would have a truck now if I order another color. Tough waiting now that I see all the Tremors starting to show up.
I'm with you Sloot. I actually changed my order last week to Iconic Silver after seeing one in person and it's darker than last years Ingot Silver and I really like it with the Sport package.
Im not a patient person and I shouldve known myself better ordering the Silver Spruce when i did. I knew that i wouldnt want to wait this long just to hope to hear that production would start soon.
I have been seeing some Lariat Sport Ultimates on autotrader in the new Silver but in diesel rather than the 7.3L gasser. I definitely dont need diesel but if I can get a deal on one with the options I want, then I'm going for it. I've had enough waiting
yes i am a millennial, just barely, but i qualify as one. that may explain my impatience with this
Confirmed at dealer this morning that Silver Spruce paint is only short at the Kentucky plant. Other plants that make f150 and Explorers have that color.
Kentucky plant only one experiencing “supplier issues”. Still no ETA.
