I was pipelining and caught the trailer plug hitch on something and tore it to pieces. This shorted out some fuses so I got those all changed. Then I noticed my tail lights weren't working. Head lights, signal lights, top of cab running lights and brake lights all work. All fuses checked with a multimeter. Replaced the dimmer switch. Still no tail lights. Is there anything else I should check before I start chasing wires? I'm trying to avoid crawling under the truck today because its -1 C out and the ground is pure mud lol.
My brake lights and falshers, and hazards all work in the back just not my running lights. I'll do some more digging today though, I'm guessing its going to be a wiring issues caused by tearing out that trailer wiring but just wanted to check here.
There are two power poles in the bulb socket. One provides the power for the brake lights, turn signals, and hazards. The other is solely for the tail lights.
So the other lights working does indicate the ground is okay, but you're not getting power to that tail light pole. Time to do some tracing.
