2012 F350 Delete

I have a 2012 F350 with 79,000 mi. and I'm looking to install a delete kit in it. I'm not looking for any crazy HP gains or anything. I just want to get rid of the DPF and EGR. I've been reading the posts on here and sometimes get spun in circles. Lol. What I've come up with is a Sinister EGR Delete, DPF delete pipe, and H&S Mini Maxx tuner. If I could get some feedback on whether that sounds like it would work for what I'm looking to do? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Good luck with buying those items

due to new epa interest, these items are getting scarce

How about us farmers for off-road use. I'm not too thrilled about setting my field on fire when regen starts.

Interesting enough the EPA recently decided that it has authority to regulate emissions for off road and race vehiciles if they were originally manufactured for on highway use. The is a bill on file in congress (house) to inform the EPA that they don not have that authority, or no longer have it. I think the nickname is the RPM bill.. Search around on line and you will find some info on it. A lot of pressure has been put on the makers and sellers of deleteable tuners. A lot of folks are all excited about it but it is no different than what they did to Edge and H&S a few years back. But I looked on ebay for fun the other day and there were dozens if not hundreds of tuners for sale including H&S. I had an H&S on my 6.4L and blew a head gasket with. Be careful, always tow in stock tune.

Appreciate that info, Stan.

I have no interest in performance tunes, only the sputnik removal. As it is, I could almost pull my trailer in half. 860 ft/lb of torque is plenty for towing and hauling.

There are some tuners on ebay that are non HP tuners. I haven't heard much about them but go on there and look for diesel tuners, When I heard they were scarce I went and looked and there were dozens if not hundreds for sale. I had an H&S mini and it was a great tuner. This was 10 or so years ago and the truck got totalled but H&S got busted big time and they haven't made a tuner in years so what you get there are old new tuners. If you have technical problems support may be spotty.

If you don't like drone I would suggest getting the longest muffler in place of the DPF. I also went to a diesel performance shop that put everything in and tuned it for me. I didn't trust myself to do it right.

Recommend you have a professional do your delete and install a tuner they recommend based on your inputs as far as your outcomes desired. Unless you're a full time Powerstroke Master you don't have the knowledge you need to protect your expensive machine. They're out there but the good ones aren't advertising for it and alerting the EPA clowns. You don't need to roll coal to have a sweet running 6.7l and for a long time.

I had mine done by a local diesel shop just recently. He doesnt advertise it but he does them all the time. There has been some nervous nellies on here trying to make you think the epa will be crawling on the highway looking for deleted trucks. Havent seen one instance of this yet and im quite sure I wont. Get it done by a shop. A lot if things can go wrong if your not very careful and familiar with the procedure of tuining etc. if you delete you MUST get some kind of tune to fool truck into thinking dpf and egr are still on truck or truck will go into limp mode if your lucky. You definately can still find these delete tuners etc. Dont believe the hype.

OK, I'll try again. I would not do the H&S for the reasons stated in my earlier post. Suggest a SCT X 4. Later technology. You buy the tuner on line. Then you are free to have one of tyrants agents write you the tune or tunes you want. They send them in a file you down load to the tuner and then install. So, you can get one "stock" power tune or an assortment. I had occasion to use their customer service and it was great. I also recommend keeping the stock tailpipe and adding a muffler. Keeps the truck looking and sounding stock. Ryder.com sells a good diesel muffler on line. I think the brand is Walker. Just cut the pipe and put it in with a couple clamps. BTW I agree with the last post about the fear mongers on line. Been following tuners and tuning since 2009. I have yet to hear first hand that EPA got any individual. I think though that some states are nosing around a bit. Cost is approx: X4 400 pipe 120 EGR block off 110 (more for delete) muffler 150 plus get a couple connectors, Tunes are 250 for the first, 150 each additional. Hope this helps you.

right now the hotspot is CA. The rumor that i have seen on youtube is that CA police will also be watching for signs that a truck is deleted and can perform roadside checks like they do for CARB now. They will also not allow a vehicle to be registered until it is emissions compliant if it fails a roadside service. there is a bill in CA for these rules to be extended vehicles with GVW of 14k or higher. While the EPA is not targeting individuals they have openly said they are actively checking manufacturers. Trucktrend has an article about this and the one tuner they interviewed said the EPA waits until a tuner is successful enough so they can impose big fines. The big issue for people is going to be tuning devices are going to become bricks if they are updated and emissions delete tuning is in the software.

Cali also has mandates for older vehicles that have to be updated to newer emissions standards. It is crazy what is going on out there amongst other things as well. Appreciate that info.
