oil leak

is the oil filter adapter a common place for oil to leake and is that an easy way to fix it besides rtv the poo out of it?

Are you sure the oil pressure sending unit isn't leaking???

No matter where it is leaking it will be an easy fix. Worst case you will have to get another adapter from the scrapyard.

If it is the adapter...I would suggest removing it and either buying or making a new gasket for it. Pretty simple piece to fix. If the adapter is cracked, then a trip to the yard will get you a new one.

I would also look at the oil pressure sender, they are know to sprout leaks after a few good years of running.

Spray some carb cleaner around everything and start it up. Look for the leak.

whats the easiet way to get to the top bolt on the adapter, i've got hedman long tubes and big hands so i can't exactly get a wrench on it...any suggestions? it looks like there is's a little leak out of the oil pan as well but the headers are blocking the bolt again. dang it.... well the headers were kinda warped anyway and they leaked too, sounds like i'm buying the big tube of rtv
