Well I cleaned my truck today and when i was just going to school and coming back it seems to idle at around 800-900 when usually its about 650-750.
Also the throttle response was GREAT! Talk about low end power, i would just tap the gas and it would jump to 1300 in a sec. Or while driving it was really responsive.
But i didnt get any check engine lights.
Luckely, knock on wood, i havent got them in about 6 months. I had a "load" full of bad sensors and its runs nice now :-)
Any hints on what this could be would be nice.
I was thinking the computer is getting used to its engine, cuz i had the neg. cable off for a few days. And put it back on 3 days ago (I fixed what was broke)
The computer thing is a slight possibility but I'd be checking for a minor vacuum leak somewhere. It may be nice but you may see a drop in your MPG with it idling that high. Drive it for a few dyas and record your mileage. If you begin to lose MPG you have a problem.
650-750 is about normal in-gear idle. 800-900 is about normal for curb idle (in a non-moving gear). Its been my expreience that if its too good to be true...it usually is.
Perhaps it is time to check the timing...and reset it if necessary...
ALso be sure that you have cleaned the rear of the TB assembly
(behind the inlet flaps)
then make sure the throttle cable is on right and not kinked by another engine bay component....lube the quick release joints under the black little throttle fulcrum assembly.
