Trading in my current truck for a new one. 2019 Superduty for a 2019 Superduty. Decided last light I was going to take off the Gatorbacks and put on new truck. What a disappointment. These have only been on since March and the rear brackets are extremely corroded, and the front and rears were holding tons of dirt and debris. I wash my truck twice a week.
Looking for options with pictures on new flaps. Iv'e run the Ford ones on my 2017 F350 and liked how low the fronts hung down, but the rear didn't hang low enough for me.
Here are my gators, I love them, the brackets dont show at all, took hour aside for front and back, no drilling required, I had the OME flaps on for 2 weeks , they were junk
A guy posted a video of installation of the Gatorbacks on his SRW a week or two ago. It was stupidly overcomplicated for mudflaps. On top of having literally hundreds of parts, he had to actually drill out the flaps himself... per a template provided by Gatorback. It's ridiculous that the holes needed for mounting aren't already in the flaps, especially for the cost of the Gatorbacks. They look great, but I have a hard time supporting overly complicated, over engineered products that are way more expensive for the same or similar function. My OEM's were super easy to install and I think they look great. They could offer a little more protection but if your tires stay within the wheel wells they serve their purpose well enough.
Buy them gatorbacks from ford and they are pre drilled.
Can get them pre-slotted from Sharptruck as well. Installed all round on my F450 (Gunmetal Ford Ovals). Not hard to do - a little time consuming and they could definitely simplify the rear brackets a bit (a 1-piece instead of 3). The fronts are a piece of cake - maybe a 10min install per side.
I'm not sure what went wrong with your brackets. Here's what my rear brackets look like after 2.5 years. I think I've washed my truck twice in that time, and it's often salty in MD winters.
