If you use it for heavy loads or towing I'd go 5 years max. I had 2 E's blow out at 4 yrs with only 12k miles in that time. No signs of dry rot, properly inflated, good tread
Most tire manufacturers say 6 years max, however Michelin says 10 years. I have never bought Michelins for my truck (I have them on my TDI) but may consider them. The guy at Discount told me that Cooper tires have a rubber compound in them that makes them hold up longer in hot, dry climates. I have no idea if that has any truth to it or if it was just plain BS to sell me the tires. Anyway I'm trying the Coopers now. Like you, my tires never wear out before they age out due to too many vehicles so I am always interested in ways to extend tire age. I know that claimed high mileage tires have harder tread compounds and I avoid them because since I will never wear any tire out I choose them by what I want in performance rather than miles. I don't know if that's a mistake on my part or not, I don't really know iff softer rubber lasts loger than harder. The only tire that really disappointed me were my BFG Rugged Terrains, they started coming apart at less than 4 years and 16K, every one of them eventually failed, the longest lasting one barely made it 5 years. My truck is garage kept and no signs of cracking or rot but they came apart anyway, fortunately I felt the out of round condition before anything catastrophic happened and was able to change them.
The sun you have in Florida, I wouldn’t go more than 6 regardless of tread. Discount Tire won’t touch tires older than 6 years except to replace them. I run the Falken Wildpeak AT3/W on my 2wd Dually and have been very happy with them.
The Michelin tires on my truck are a few months past 6 years, still have tread above the wear indicators.
Someday, If the same type tires are available, I will replace with new.
The whole years re warranty is an educated guess/agreement between the tire manufacturers, gov't regulators and tire retailers. All of them want to avoid responsibilty. Result is a way low age on tires regardless of mileage that benefits all the players, except you. If the tires are cross hatched with UV degradation well crap, that's reality what happened and they should be replaced unless you are feeling lucky.

What brand, size and style of tires are you running David?
I have been running Cooper Discoverer HTP on my truck now for many years. I am currently on my second set with the first set going for 50K miles before wearing out. They were only about 4 years old but had a lot of miles on them. No signs of any degradation though so I bought another set.
Funny story about Discount Tire and their policy on tire age - when I bought the first set of Discoverers I had a very old tire as a spare, probably 10+ years old. Due to issues with the winch for under the truck storage I had been keeping the spare in the bed. I have a topper so it is covered. Anyway, I told them during the installation of the 4 tires I bought that I wanted to keep the best of the old ones for the spare. They finished the install and I was getting ready to leave and just happened to look in the bed at my spare - all they had given me was the wheel! When I questioned them, I got the "we cannot work on old tires" response - they could take them off but not put them back on. Amazingly, they had not said anything about not putting or leaving a tire on the spare wheel. Fortunately, I had not left and was able to retrieve one of my old tires from them. Ended up going down the street to another small shop to get the old tire mounted again for my spare. On my second round, I was watching and made sure that I got a good spare.
Another funny story about Discount Tire; I HAD an '03 Ranger Edge Supercab, bought tires from them and had them installed on my freshly POWDER COATED wheels, I took an assistant manager out and showed him my newly re-finished wheels and asked that they take extra care to not scratch or chip them.
Well, They chipped 1 right by the valve stem when they used their prying tool, I pointed this out and the manager INSISTED that they REPLACE the wheel!! THEY paid nearly $200 for an already refurbished wheel THEN $50 more to have it powder coated!! He also said I could keep the chipped wheel for my spare-I took it in not thinking anything about THE ORIGINAL spare tire.....they ended up GIVING me a brand new tire also for FREE!! -Couldn't ask for anything better than that!!
