Buy the special socket that fits the O2 sensor, makes things much easier. Also, drive the truck first and let it cool just a little. It'll come out much easier than if it's cold. Finally. YouTube is your friend, the modern day instruction manual.
Have a 2013 3.5 ecoboost.I got a cel code says bank 2 sensor 1 o2 sensor.Anyone ever changed one?Any hints?
If I'm not mistaken, this is the one that's tucked behind the turbo. Mine failed a year or so ago and because of my bum shoulder and chronic pain I elected to have it fixed instead of going after it myself. No other issues since.
Looked at it over the weekend. Its on my sons truck,Doesnt look too bad,we will swap trucks this week and I,ll take it to my buddies shop where he has 10 hoists.I found a sensor made by Bosch that says its oem.Anyone used a bosch?
While Bosch has a good reputation, their replacement O2 sensors are not the best quality. Try to find an NTK. they cost more, but are better quality and should have the exact plug on it already. With Bosch, you may have to splice your old plug on.
drove it to my buddies shop (about 5 miles),put it on a hoist, waited about 10 minutes, put a wrench on it and it popped right out.Local store had a denso brand, put it in so far so good.
