Hey all I’m nearing the end of my first engine build and was interested to see if it will meet my expectations I’m hoping for at least 260-275 rwhp for my 351w the specs are:
1996 351w roller block
bbk shorty headers
gt40 lighting heads (will upgrade but I got them really cheap so I’m using them for now)
cam specs:217/225@.50 duration 528/523 lift
springs/retainers to match upgraded lift/duration
Kb pistons bringing me to 9.6:1 CR
going through a t5 trans
And if you have any tips for me I would love to hear them.
It will have to make well over 300hp @ the crank to see 260-275 @ the rear wheels. The cam and higher compression ratio you have listed will be your two biggest HP contributors However the motor may still fall short of that without some type of aftermarket tuning.
