Looking for some help finding frame specs to a 51 F1. We got the cab/bed off to find out that the frame seems to be bent. Need specs or book(s) or ?? to check to see how far off.....Appreciate any help or direction!
Thank you...We are trying to find dimensions, to see how bad the frame is out of whack...I guess something like a body shop might use or?? Not sure if chassis manual would have reference point dimensions.. info or not.
Any help or direction would be appreciated.

The Shop Manual has a diagram of the frame with some dimensions.
If you don't have one yet I would suggest the investment, it has saved me hours of frustration.
This link should take you to a page that appears in the Operator's manual. (If it doesn't work, open my gallery and go the the '48 album - toward the bottom you'll find the diagram and open the largest one) It has some of the dimensions, but not exactly what you're looking for.
Basically, the frames are symmetrical so find 2 spots on each frame rail and check the diagonal measurements.
Both are invaluable in different ways. Operator's manual is available for around $10 Shop manual runs around $35. Several suppliers of the reprints.
I'd like to get the parts/accessories illustration catalog, but it runs around $85 and so far I've managed to get mine assembled correctly.......at least nothing has fallen off.
RTR,
I used to straighten frames. Give Dick's drawing to the frame straighteners. Are you doing this yourself? If so I can give you some help. They are using the top of frame rails for their datum lines. Dimensions 'E', 'F', and 'G' are deviations from this plane at specified points. The rails should be dead parallel with no twist. There should be no diamond when cross measuring. Be aware that these frames are designed to be very flexible due to their 'C' channel rails with riveted crossmembers. Look for loose rivets and/or elongated rivet holes. Something as simple as a broken spring on one corner can also throw off your evaluation and make you think the frame is twisted. These frames are best straightened stripped bare. But for just an evaluation of damage try to support all four corners evenly and you should be able to get an idea of where the damage lies.
Good Luck!
Brett
Could I prevail upon you to send me an email of the dimensions you posted. I have tried to download them to no avail and when I print them I can't quite make out the numbers. I could really use this information. Thanks. My email is New_Hampshire_Yankee @Yahoo.com.
Thanks Guys...That I think is what we are looking for!!! From which manual is that and do you have a larger version of that? Cannot make out numbers and dimensions. We have someone that will do the frame, if it does not require alot of bull work. If the numbers are way out of whack, we will take to frame shop.
Anyone have a source in Southern WY.?
