smog Garbage

Hey,
Is it possible to get a head that does not have the air holes for the smog pump and just get rid of all that crap completely?

I am looking at doing the same thing. that way I can move my altenator up to the pump bracket and get it farther from the water,If you look in the 4x4 forum under relocating alt and post a reply when somebody replies there you will get a notification, maybe the info will help you too.

Right now on my 86 I've managed to eliminate all that smog junk(including the pump) off my engine, by taking out lines, plugging lines into the carb, plus I have now cats. Pretty easy job actually, just rip off the pump, look where your lines go, decide if they need to be there, otherwise screw a bolt, rag, piece of wood, etc. into them, actually on one of mine off the carb I have a 20 gauge shotgun shell stuck over it with baling wire for a clamp. Now I see you have an 89, fuel injection can be tricky sometimes w/ computer sensors and stuff, plus if you eliminate the pump and have a serpintine system you have to find a new belt length. Otherwise for montster, it can be done in under an hour, my alt. is still in the same place though.
