wheel bolt torque.

Wondering what I should torque my lug nuts at. Mustang II susp. and hubs ... brackets and Chevelle calipers. Prime 505 wheels,
snugged them up with impact, but just enough to hold the rim tight

My suburban torques to 140#... where can I find this info ??

Both of my modern vehicles with 5-lug aluminum wheels get 100 ft-lbs., with a re-torque after 25 miles or so.

Here's a chart from a 72 Ford truck service manual I found online. I was always told 1/2" studs get 90-110 ft. lbs. 7/16" GM studs get a little less. I've always torqued to 100 and never lost a wheel yet.

not worried about losing one, worried more about warping the rotors. I'm using aluminum wheels and what I found is 70-85 for alum 90-100 for steel

John I have always used 100 tt lbs on all of mine. If the sequence is used the problem should not occur .Even with steel wheels I do not torque to max on the first go round I torque to 75 then finish with 100. My way of thinking is that helps seat the wheel against the rotor then go all the way. I have only lost two wheels that way.(just kidding). OH!! by the way only eleven days for me to leave for CTC.

The Centerline aluminum rims I had on my panel were only recommended to be torqued to 75 ft lbs and no more.. my steel smoothies I torque to 80 ft lbs

I'm going with 80#... that's what my wheel dealer recommended.
