A Newbie's Guide to the PA Chapter

The two men who proceeded me in being the Chapter Leader did a heck of a job. I have loads of respect for them and appreciate their friendship to this day, so this isn't something I'm doing to tramp on their toes. But, I've never seen something posted of this ilk, so, here goes.

Membership Authorizations:
Those of you who know me (whether through the forum, other social media such as Facebook, or in person) know this: I've got a million things going on and the attention span of a squirrel on crack some days. Add in that I'm working on 2 different trucks (my 98 and 96)...ug, there's not enough hours in a day sometimes. I do try my best to remember to stay up on authorizing new members to the chapter. If you put a request in, and it's been a week or so and you still don't see that you've been added - feel free to drop me a PM and remind me.

"I've been added, now what?"
Some CL's will make a welcome thread just for you once they've approved your membership request. It's a dedicated thread to share about yourself. I tend to not do that (again, time...), but I would love it if you would stop by the PA Chapter chat thread for the month and say hello. Join the conversation, talk about what you're working on truck-wise, share whatever you're comfortable with in terms of your personal background (I know, it's the intertubes...so, judgement is always important), anything of that ilk.

"Ya'll do any get together events?"
PA's a huge state, as you know, and we've had an active past (I believe there's photos if you dig back in the old threads of the chapter) in terms of getting members together. Since I've assumed this position, we've not done any events though. Part of that is my lack of planning, part of that is just other factors. I do try to post up about the major shows I go to - Ford and Truck Nationals in Carlisle (June and August, respectively) as well as the 4-Wheel Jamboree in Bloomsburg are usually always on my calendar along with other local/regional shows in western PA. Folks are always welcome to come and say hello at those sorts of things, and if members have interest in doing something as a group outside of me planning it I'm not going to stop you...and I'll hope that you'll share for others to know as well if they're interested.

"Can I post For Sale Ads?"
The forum itself has a marketplace, but there's also a buy/sell/swap thread that you can post in here ---> https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...sell-swap.html

I'll add to this as I think of things. But, those are a couple fundamental basics. Keep it fun, respectful and clean...and hope you'll join us in making the chapter a bit more active. Thanks for reading.
