My ex has noisy body mounts under the driver and front passenger's feet. It's pretty irritating and I'd like to fix it but I know the Ford bushings are pretty much unobtanium. It looks like daystar and energy suspension make complete bushing kits that re-use your factory metal parts and bolts but I honestly don't really want to do the whole truck, just fix what's noisy, and I'm not sure those really fix the problem? Is it the rubber bushing that causes the problem or the metal part?
I also see that dorman makes a bushing kit sold individually that includes bolt and sleeve but it says 2003-2005 ex. Mine's a 2000 but I have no idea if body mounts changed over the years or if these will really even fit the excursion? Seems to be quite a bit of confusion out there between the ex and superduty mounts. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Body-Mount-...ry!88240!US!-1
I'm pretty certain the noise is the body mount since it appears to be a fairly common issue on these and I've already disconnected the sway bar to confirm it's not that. Also when I sprayed PB blaster on the mount it got much more annoying haha.
Was just providing another option. Spend the same on the Ford ones, or go with one of the energy or daystar sets.
I wouldn't want to do this job twice and when I asked my local diesel mech friend about this, he told me he's actually a dealer for them. I'm like, thanks for letting me know!
