Guessing here, but it's probably something like BDA83AH51 12345
BD is Ford 1/2 ton
A83 - standard cab pickup
Second A or B - standard or deluxe trim
H - home office, Ontario assembly plant
51 is your year
last 5 digits are the actual serial number
Sorry about that I should of put the vin number down I got the tag from the centre of the fire wall number on the tag has trim 13 , paint 33 , Vin BDA83BHP - 8746
The letter P would indicate a 1952 model truck. With a low unit number, 8746, it is an early one. If your factory glass is still installed, you might look for a date code with the Ford script logo. Let us know what you find.
Ok where yours say SP mine all say SS and also with a M at the bottom the back window has a 1 52 drivers doors has a 12 51 and passenger door has 12 55 I would put up a pic but I have trouble enough doing this the windshield only has F&F safety glass on it so would it be a 51 or a 52 thank guys for your time .
The date code in the glass identifies when the glass was made. It was likely a month or so before the truck was built, factoring in manufacturing and delivery time to the assembly plant. Date codes of 12 51 and 1 52 would not be unusual for a truck built in late January or February, '52, which corresponds with your unit number. The right side door glass and windshield have obviously been replaced. The year code in your serial number is quite clear, P = your truck is a 1952 model. I'm not aware of any assembly date codes on Canadian trucks.
