I have a '79 F-250 with a D60 front. The drivers side manual locks fine and you can here it "click" when u lock it. THe passenger side doesnt want to lock. I have taken it apart and cleaned it up and all. If I want to lock it i have to take the six bolts out the the dial and hold the lock up with a scewdriver and turn the axle and wiggle it around until it wants to lock. When i took it all apart it was workin fine then i drove it a little and let it sit adn now nothing!!! What should I do I dont have the money for Warn hubs right now.
If you have a cam that looks like a flat ring with two prongs sticking up, you have it 45-90 degrees the wrong way. Reassembly the hub and turn it a different direction. If you then start getting a click with teh hub locked, disassemble and turn it a few degrees more.
i dont know if thats it though. I have reassembled it and it worked until I used the truck. Then I go to lock it after moving and it wont lock. Plus the thing that your talking about slides into another piece so I dont see how I could turn it 45-90 degrees?

my auto locks decided not to work on the beach at cape hatteras. luckily, i had a friend nearby that pulled me out. as soon as i got home, i ordered a pair of warn manual locking hubs and have never looked back. the installation wasn't difficult with the first one taking an hour and the second one about ten minutes. with manual locking hubs, there is no doubt that you are in 4WD.
I have a 2000 F250 PSD, and I have a similar problem. If I Turn the dial in the cab to four wheel drive, it doesn't lock in, so i have to turn it in manually, but the hub on the passenger side, is really hard to turn, i have to use a pair of pliars to turn it. You can see what looks like part of a rubber o ring, the is partially sticking and stopping it from turning, i have takin it apart and messed with it a couple times, but with no success. Is there a way to fix this, or do I just need to buy a new set of hubs?
Also when driving, when braking my truck has a bad bounce to it, I thought maybe the rotors needed turned, but I had that done, and it didn't help,,could this be caused by a bad hub also?
