1966 F-250 Frame Swap

I have recently purchased a running/driving 1966 F250. I have decided to use this for some personal and business use, so I am putting a utility box on it and replacing the straight 6 gas motor with a 5.9 Cummins. I also want to lower the truck and I have considered upgrading to a possibly beefier frame with disc brakes and power steering...like a 1999-2004 F250. Can anyone give me an idea of the effort it will take to put the cab on this style chassis or would I be better off just keeping the original chassis and upgrading the brakes, etc

?

Not trying to be a smartass, but I HAVE built a fair few cars and trucks.
How much acetylene do you currently have??
Is MIG, or TIG in your vocabulary??
When you sit down, do you lean to the left a lot??
Do your neighbors come by to watch you effortlessly build everything??
Are you comfortable working on your projects for ten-twenty years??

Meaning: you will need two of the following:
1) A lot of money
2) A lot of talent
3) A lot of time

All three helps a bunch-o-rooney, but if that were the case, we'd all have what we wanted.

Strictly speaking, a frame swap is rarely a good idea, OR easy.

Thanks for the feedback. I realize it is not an easy or quick process, but I want to be thinking in the "right" direction before I plan in the "wrong" direction.

Frame swaps are pretty easy on pickup trucks. It's not like he's trying to put the Cummins in an MGB.

First thing to consider is that the V.I.N. is on your 1966 frame. Check with your local DMV and see what they require when you change V.I.N.'s (frame swap). Other considerations include:
frame widths
body mount locations
wheelbase
steering column attachment to modern steering box
etc...

IMHO, it's not a project for a beginner but certainly not a major challange for someone with some experience fabricating. On the other hand swapping on disc brakes and power steering from a 70s F250 is a lot less work.
