Thumbs up Engine swap

Have you had any feedback on your topic? I am interested in doing the same thing with my '94 f-150, the 300 must go! I also need to figure out if my current tranny and rearend will work. If you get any response please let me know.

Cakane an d Fordbeast_80, A 460 swap is not that easy going from a EFI equiped truck to a Carb. You talking about three conversions in one.

Engine, fuel induction (EFI to carb), and tranny.

The 89 will be easier than the 94, unless Cakane finds a 92-96 F150 or 250 W/ 7.5L efi w/ auto trans and computer, basically the whole truck is neccessary for the conversion.

Don't get me wrong, It can be done. Its just how much money do you want to throw at it?

A 460 powered truck can be had for less money that it would take to do the conversion. Think about it.

Would it be any easier with my '87 F-150 that currently has a 302 in it? I'd really love the power of the 460.

He is right. If you want the 460, sell your truck and buy one with a 460. That is JMHO. If you don't mind the fabbing, and downtime on the truck, and spending money. Then go for it. But I suspect if you are asking, you probably aren't the kind of person who can just do it alone. (I know I am not right now). To much downtime, and custom stuff that I don't have the time or money for. Cheers.
