No im not asking bout 2wd and 4wd difference
But rather if there anything different between the
2 motors.
My last 302 took a dump last week and i found one
Out of a 93 f150 4wd and im wondering if
There anything different between the blocks
Like the flex plates and oil pans?
Or will it bolt right up to my 2wd drive trans?
Let me know what you guys think
The 302 that blew up on me came out of a 89 Lincoln town car with a aod. It was a pretty healthy motor but
I took it in 2 month back to get transmissions work
And the guy never touch it he talk me into a
Intake swap.
Long story short he halfass put the orginal 86 f150 intake on it and not even a day later it blew up.
I had him to fix the trans since i didnt have overdrive
But he never touch it ironically before it blew it
Was neutraling out but i threw my shifter to D and
It grab overdrive idk why.
Also before my motor gave up it was a fairly healthy motor but i notice when i crank it up after sitting
It crank odd like a plug was out but after that it fired up. I still dont why it gave up but im hoping this 3rd motor is it last for awhile
So I am assuming all these engines have been put in a 1986 f150 that originally was fuel injected? How has the original fuel injection harness faired during all these swaps? I am guessing not very well. Have you considered changing it to a carb system? Or do you think you can keep the fuel injection going?
