head liner removal

has anyone ever tackled the removal of the headliner?
I need to do that so i can get at the moonroof drain hose. I think it came off
also, is there any touch up paint for the interior plastic dash components that get scratched?

I've never heard of the moonroof drain hose coming off. Is there water dripping in from the door pillar when it rains? Is the headliner getting soaked around the front corner of the headliner (driver side or passenger side) when it rains? There is another thread concerning water leaking in around the pillar. Take a look at my reply to that thread. I thought that I had a clogged drain also. I was able to fix the leak pretty easily.

Let me know if you find the touch up for the interior. I am also looking for it. I need the EB tan.

there is water leaking around the left rear corner of the moonroof but not touching the edge of the moonroof. more like inbetween the moonroof and the outside edge. I had this problem when I first got the expy took it back to the dealer and they said the drain hose that runs down the door pillar had come off. so I'm just assuming that it is the same problem. Any help?

That does sound like a different problem. You can test by pouring wafer or using a hose and letting it run down the channels in the roof towards the windshield (keep the moonroof area dry). There are two drain channels stamped into the roof. If this produces a leak then it is probably the same problem I had and was able to fix. Then try pouring some water on the moonroof and see if it drains out or backs up and leaks into the interior. The headliner seems straight forward to remove, but its probably a pain since its so big. The liner is just tucked under the grommet around the moonroof. You can probably untuck it and pull it down far enough to take a peek around for the drain hose. Good luck.

I obtained interior touch up paint from the dealer. They will require the interior color code found on the door sticker.

My drain hose was blocked off from the day the truck rolled off the assembly line! The easiest way to find out if the hose is blocked/removed is to open the moonroof. Then stand up on the door sill or on the floor board and look through the hole. In the front corners of the channel are 2 holes, one on each side. Take an air compressor and blow through the holes. If they are working properly, you should hear air coming out under the truck in the rear of the front fender area. If it is plugged or off completely you can remove the trim around the doors and at the top of the windshield. You should then be able to pull the headliner down far enough to see the drain tubes. The run out of the corners of the sunroof and down the windshield channels. I had to replace mine on the drivers side because it was sealed with soundproofing foam at the bottom of the fender, behind the interior kick panel. I hope this helps.
