I’ve got a 2011 F-250 and want to install a Viair 450c to the frame. I’ll use it to fill 33” tires back up and to top off my airbags if I see they’re low. Since the compressor wont be hot all the time, I’d like to use an uplifter switch, which I’m adding myself, to turn it on. From what I can find online I’ll need to add a 40a relay as the factory relay on an uplifter is maxed at 25a. Is there a factory location that I can add a 40a relay to work in conjunction with an uplifter switch or is it going to be easier to find the switched wire from an uplifter and run a wire from there to the compressor and mount the relay there as it looks like it needs a pressure switch.
I think you mean "UpFitter" Switch, and IF you need a 40 Amp Service then I would suggest you just use the UpFitter circuit as is to Drive the Relay of your choice with the appropriate Fused protection.
There is no factory wiring large enough to supply 40-50 amps to your compressor. You will have to come straight off one of the batteries and quickly put a circuit breaker or fuse in that line. I would run 8 gauge wire. Then you can run to your properly sized relay and like was mentioned, use the upfitter to trigger the relay.

yeah all 2011 was covered in my link but your link in addition has a lot more information .... I'll have to save that one to my collection too
