Knowledge is a terrible thing to waste much less delete! Maybe the OP could add a poll to this thread so the voices can be heard without needing to add a reply. This is as bad as that photo storage place removing all those pics from count-less posts on 1000's of forums. The loss is dramatic and sad!
I haven't been active for a while, but i would push hard on this, especially those of you that have paid money to support this site. Other than the beer glass (that never came) what does the money you give them help support? I say it's things like the knowlege base that has been lovingly put together by it's members.

I’ve read everyone’s comments on this subject and I understand the upset as to these saved threads being gone
have you ever googled a question about a 53-56 ford truck? The first thing that will come up is a thread from FTE.
so everytime someone makes or visits a thread the thread count goes up. Meaning more visits to advertisers. With those saved threads gone newbie posters will start a thread and a dozen of us will answer the question
i just think FTE wants more thread counts and more posts for the advertisers
