Hey all- please help if you can take 5 minutes out of your schedules. I do not have an owners manual, and I was hoping somebody could look under the seatbelt warning section (how to turn off) and send me the key on-key off sequence and seatbelt latch sequence (usually 4 stepd). That darn chime is going to send me to the insane asylum.
Yes, you should always wear your seatbelt, but on short trips around my block...
Hey Pale, cause nobody answered you... here you go. Direct from the owners manual.
Before...
set the parking brake
transmission in park(AT) or neutral(MT)
ignition switch is off
all doors closed
driver seat belt is unbuckled
parklights and headlights are OFF. If autolight feature compatible,
make sure it is off.
Read thouroughly (?) before proceeding...
1. turn ignition on. do not start.
2. wait until saftey warning light shuts off.
steps 3-5 must be done within 60 seconds.
3.buckle and unbuckle the driver seatbelt three times, ending with the seat belt unbuckled.
4. turn the parking lights/headlights on, then off.
5. buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt 3 times, ending with the seatbelt unbuckled
the safety belt warning light will turn on for 3 seconds
6.withing 7 second of the seatbelt warning light shutting off, buckle and unbuckle the drivers side seat belt.
Wearing of Seat Belts has been mandatory in Australia since 1962. I have been wearing them for almost 40 years and they are no problem. Just put them on and get get used to wearing them, pretty soon you will never notice them. I used to be like you when I was young and had an excuse for everything, but when they saved my life on two occasions I saw the light as it were. Just my opinion.
