I have an '86 F150 4x4 that I am resurrecting. I got the mouse nest out of the heater box and get good air flow, but no heat at all. Does anybody have any suggestions? All the mechanical parts seem to be in working order. The engine doews run on the cool side, but not that cool.
Wrong forum, should be in the heating and cooling forum but I'll help.
If its blowing air you either have blocked coolant lines running to/from the blower unit. Or the doors that direct/meter the amount of warm vs cold air coming into the ducts aren't set right. Can you feel warmth from the coolant hoses going in and out? If so its your doors not directing the correct air through.
Heaters cores go bad, there basically a mini radiator.

the doors both work fine, as does the fan itself...the 2 hoses leading to it are both warm....i plan to try flushing the core as per another respondents suggestion. if that doesn't work i have my eye on the heater from a junker we have...thanks
