Back before a graduated from highschool me/friends would go to junkyards and look for parts to sell on ebay. It was a pretty good expierence. But never that much money involved. We'd usually pull door handles, dash clusters... Anyone know of any good things that are found on cars/trucks that will sell good on ebay. I am sure that there are some great parts out there that are ready to be sold for some good cash. Thanks. and incase you are wondering I am in need of some extra cash. Any advice will be appreciated!
My local junk yard sells speedo clusters for $50 --- more than on ebay.
It is a good thing to get a whole parts car and tear it apart. I did that once. Got $1000 in parts. Used most of them however and sold maybe $100 in parts.
Yup, best bet, get a complete car and part it. I used to buy wrecked Mustangs and part them out. Pay $500 for a rust free '65 6 cylinder coupe (it was totaled) and parted it out. Made about $1500 in profit. Other things, maybe get small stuff that is easily damaged or missing. I bought a center grille support for a '69 Mustang for $5, turned and put it on eBay and it sold for $65. Of course, parts from older model, popular cars and trucks are your best bet. Like Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, Barracuda, Chevelle, etc will bring the best market.
windsheilds(shipping?????), trim and other interior parts in good shape, grills in good shape, toploader trannies, blinker switches(these wear out quickly) any thing on the interior that is in good shape- steering wheels, *****, arm rests, door skins, stuff you find yourself looking for.
I bought my 77 Hiboy for 200 bucks took the drive drive line to put in my Bronco, sold all the body panels for about 400 and then got 40 bucks for the frame at the crusher. Wanted to keep the truck, just couldn't get a title for it.
I also just bought a complete(minus the steering wheel) dash from an 88 Bronco for 100 bucks and payed 40 in shipping with UPS from NY to central TX.
