Yes I have it at a shop now but he's telling me it pretty rough even though it only needs to hold and give a small amount of heat since it will never be winter driven . I just thought it would be no big deal to price a new one if for no other reason to give me an idea of how much to spend repairing it .
Mine just puked the other day. Hoping the radiator shop can repair it. Of course it held good pressure when I had it out, before I assembled and installed the heater box.
Yes ,this company will hook you up w/ the correct length , width & thickness . This is the company utilized when the '51 - '52 Magic Air heater cores are made up . Then visit your local radiator shop to have the headers / tanks removed & soldered back on . You will be amazed at how much dirt is in the core . Happiness is a free flowing heater core . You will be glad you did .
Thanks guys I will avoid Mid Fifty unless as a last resort . Between the exchange and their shipping policies I would be getting close to $500 . I will see what my local guy can do first .
Does anyone use flow restrictors on these trucks? On my Fox Mustang they had a restrictor on the pressure side to prevent sudden increases of pressure on the heater core when accelerating the motor. Some old school guys would put a socket in the hose to restrict the flow. Just curious.
Go on the web site . They list all the many sizes available .Match up your size on the chart . Should be around 7 & 7/8 x 7 & 7/8 & 2 & 1/2 . I know they have a size to fit . Also different fin shapes to match . Good luck
