Anyone ever rebuild or make their own wiring harness (1970 302 MT)? I’m slightly worried about mine. Everything in cab works and looks great, just someone did stuff under the hood.......... I need help. Also, I’m trying to bypass sand blasting. I have everything stripped but the cab and bed still on the frame... Any suggestions? Small budget... Home garage... Need a work truck that looks good at the same time. Thanks.
I bought a 69 f250 that someone swapped the 6 cylinder for a 390. The ignition switch and wiring under the dash is in total chaos. I bought a new switch and pigtail to be installed, but for the life of me I cannot find a wiring diagram that matches the color of the wiring pigtail i bought. I have attached pictures of the switch and harness that i bought. Did i buy the wrong parts, and if not, does anyone have a correct wiring diagram i can use to hook these up.? Any advice and help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
I have on a couple of vehicles. It is a PITA to do and I only did it after the owner burned his up putting in a stereo. All three times it was the same reason.
All depends on what is bad under the hood? Only two real harnesses up there to deal with. One for motor(like 4 wires), the other feeds off the battery/solenoid and comes into the cab over by the passenger hinge area.
I have my wiring harness laying on the shop floor right now. I plan on replacing each wire with either 14 or 12 ga wire. I'll use 10 on the cigar lighter and the heater supply lines. It will be a PITA for sure, but it's a good winter project for me. I've got the old cab off of the frame right now, waiting on the replacement. I have to R&R the frame cross support that's next to the cab mounts anyway to do a work-around for the long headders to fit. So in my case, I have a while until it's on the road again. But it's all do-able. One step at a time on that 1000 mile trip.
