Difference between 7.3 oil filters

My question is, is there really that big of difference between a Baldwin B49 and the Donaldson DBL7405

I'm not looking for your preference. I want some hard facts.

The issue I'm having is finding Donaldson filters locally. Before someone says you can buy them on amazon or the internet somewhere,
I don't normally plan oil changes because my oil changes don't happen until I have a break in work.
and usually just put the oil and filters on the my works account until the next pay day.
I can get Baldwin filters all day from ford or The Parts House and so on Donaldson's are no where to
be found which I think is weird because there is a ton of heavy equipment around here.

Thanks for the help

Donaldson has been really replaced with the Baldwin around here. The Baldwin filter you referenced is just a bottom value fleet filter, the Donaldson blue filter does have a better micron rating. If I couldn't get the Donaldson I would just get the Motorcraft which is available everywhere.

I'm not trying to sound snide but are those filters that expensive? I was thinking you could order one, on-line, so that you have it when a break in work occurs. Then, all you need to do is source oil. It does sound like the Donaldson Blue filter is worth the time & effort.
