I'm building a 429 from scratch, problem is I have a 4uab crank, football rods, 429 pistons, and the pistons protrude out of the top deck .200 or more, an I missing something? Thanks for the help

OK, crank has the right numbers.
Rods are either 6.605 or 6.549. That's only .056. Which do you have?
Medium truck rods are 6.385".
Deck can vary--10.300, 10.310 or 10.322. Which do you have?
Pistons--'68 to '73 for CARS has a compression height of 1.882", give or take a thousandth.
'79 to '92 for MEDIUM TRUCKS has a compression height of 2.140".
2.140 - 1.882 = .258".
Figure a couple variations with the block and rod measurements and you are very close to "...200" or more...."
What did you tell the piston man when you bought pistons?
