Hey guys, I've got a 6 volt generator OHA10139A that has been converted to 12 volts that I'm planning to use on a 292. It seems the pulley (B2 FBA) on this generator requires a deeper belt than the later models? Is there another generator pulley that I can swap to this generator that will match up to the required 292 v belt depth? From my research the ford pulley A2 FAD might be an option but I can't find any specs on it to know for sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Neither of these "numbers" you posted are part numbers, they might be the ID engineering numbers marked on the pulley, but I cannot find either listed for cars or trucks.
Am I right to assume I need a different pulley since the belt sits lower in the groove than on the water pump an balancer? On those pulleys the belt sits close to flush to the top of the groove but I’m not sure if this is normal for a gen pulley. I haven’t fired the engine yet so I can test it just yet. Thanks
I only have parts info up to '56, and that generator number doesn't show there. But looking for '56's with the 292, it shows generator pulleys with a 1/2" cross-section. Looks from the pics like your belt is perhaps a 3/8"? But it doesn't look like that bad of a fit, either. How is the fit in the crank and water pump sheaves?

Despite what the parts catalog says, 292's were not available in trucks until 1957.
