The speedometer in my truck has quit working. The mileage is registering but the pointer stops and holds at about 38 mph. I have taken it out of the truck and don't see anything obviously wrong. Although the pointer shows 38 mph when running it does not appear to be stuck and moves freely.
Current mileage is 87,844 and I believe it is original to the truck.
What do you guys think, is it time for a new one?
Last year I replaced the fuel gauge, this year the temp gauge and I have a new oil pressure gauge to install now that I know I have good oil pressure and a new sender.
The only gauge left would be the Amp gauge
Had the same issue in my '52 F1. Sent it out to have re-built........works great now.
The company specializes in restoring dashboards, speedo/instrument clusters and they are based in Rhode Island. They did a great job for me.
If interested send me a message and I will dig out their name and address. Or you can search on the Internet.

I would be interested in that company's contact information also. My 1953 F350 the odometer works, but the speedometer needle just bounces or does nothing at all. Thanks
