I have had my SD for about a year now. Since day 1, the driver side wiper constantly chatters on the "upswing", and barely clear the window on the "downswing". Leaves 2-3" streaks in in all weather conditions. Thinking it was just a bad wiper, I have since tried two other models. Some full blade style, some with multiple lever/spring points. All work equally bad. Think there may be a problem with the arm? The spring in the arm? I haven't brought it up to the dealer, as making the trip there is seriously out of my way. Thanks for any insights and input you all may have.
Had similar with mine. It had been sitting in the dealer's lot during the California fires last year. Had the truck clay bar'ed / waxed (they deep cleaned the glass) and the problem disappeared.
I haven’t had that problem but a good cleaning with an ammonia/water solution should do the trick. I’ve used Rain X for 35+ years and seldom use my windshield wipers.
Try using RainX wiper fluid. I had a similar problem with my driver's wiper. Since changing over to the new fluid my problems have all gone away. Bonus effect is that it keeps the "RainX effect" going between treatments.
OEM ones working perfectly still since Halloween when I bought the truck. A winter in Kirkwood CA, with literally 50 feet of snow. Never had wipers work so good, not looking forward to changing them when the time comes. Haven't used anything on the windows, other than Rain-X fluid (the winter washer fluid version, not the wipe on/off kind). I guess only complaint is "low washer fluid". You have one or two more squirts before you're out, lol. So I ride around with the partial bottle from the last fill to last til I get some more. Very minor, but it's not like the fuel gauge at all :-)
I've been using a pair of NAPA PROFORMERs since 30NOV. I'm used to eking out 6 months and that barely. That said, I also use Rain-X. I'd like to point out that Rain-X is great in heavy rain when you are really moving. In a mist while going slow Rain-X sucks. Overhead streetlamps can blind you. If I lived in the pacific north-west I likely wouldn't use it.

It just seems that the OEM wiper, with OEM fluid, should work properly from the start. I understand that everything wears out, but the driver's side has been brutal since day one. Also, sometimes tricky around here getting washer fluids that are commonly sold around the country due to env. regs. Thanks for all replies.

I bought my washer fluid in Lake Tahoe last Winter. Doesn't get more environmental regs than that I couldn't imagine. They have a touchless carwash that fits a dually too.
