You don’t mention what truck you have nor what dome light style is currently in the truck.
New (aftermarket) dome lights with and without map/ reading lights are available or you can search the junkyards for a factory replacement in better condition than what you have. Stay with the factory bulb number or change it to LED. Use the regular lens or install a clear one.
It's a direct swap no wiring or drilling needed. The plastic one doesn't get really hot like the chrome one. You can easily find the plastic one at the junkyard in a ton of different Ford vehicles.
