For a Inline 300. Does it look to be standard or higher or lower compression???
I'm thinking of buying a machined block and parts from a guy who no longer wants to use them.
He did not know what they were?
Did he know who made them or if for a standard or over bore block and by how much?
What is the mark on the top of the piston?
As a WAG I would say stock because of the dish but I am far from an expert
Dave ----
Is your block that worn out that it needs to be bored 60 over?
I know some motors when you start getting that much they start to run hot and 60 is the last step before scrapping the block.
Again not an expert but something to keep in mind on 60 over pistons for any motor.
BTW might want to post this same question & picture in the 240 / 300 motor area as I am sure someone there will know like French town flyer as he races the 300 six motor.
Dave ----
.060" over bore on a 240/300 motor usually causes motor to run hot. It also makes the piston bore walls very thin, right on the edge. If you go the .060" overbore be sure to have the piston bore wall in the block sonic tested for thickness before you start rebuilding.
