I was a part of that thread. Still no answer for permanently disabling the auto shutdown. 👎

If I can disable it on a as needed basis all the better, I will know when I need to do it.

No truck has a temperature shut down timer, or a "turbo timer". The timer for shutdown for engine left running is limited to 15 minutes for engine on, and remote start is limited as well, but can be extended to 30 minutes. This is an economy, fuel issue, and excessive idling is bad for the engine and DPF in particular. In my opinion, Its really not necessary unless your towing a giant hill with a huge load, and then stopping and shutting down. By the time you park, take off your seatbelt, turn down the stereo, find your wallet, it will be cooled down and can be shut off. If your fan is still wailing and your engine coolant and engine oil temps are still over 210 f, 105 C, then it will be needing 5 - 10 minutes, let it idle for two minutes and you will see the change in temps go down and fan shut down. If not, shut off and remote start, it will idle for max 30 minutes, but heh, that's a lot of unnecessary burnt fuel for my liking. YMMV

I've been using this for years on my 2001 CCSB. Like I said it's for the dog and not the turbo, I have only used it one time for the turbo, after pulling a long hill in 100 deg heat we stopped and let it idle for a bit while we enjoyed the view.

I have a 2017 super duty xl. My remote start options are 5 and 15 minutes. What have ya’ll done to get 30? I checked FORScan and didn’t see much. 15 minutes isnt enough to warm up on Colorado mornings. If it shuts off I have to remember what time I turned it on in the am wait for it to turn off as I’m getting ready for work then remote start again. Super annoying and results in excessive start ups. Thank you.

When the truck is already running, hit the same sequence of buttons and it will extend the run time 15min if you have it already set to 15min.

I’ll try that again as I thought I read that somewhere but I’m pretty sure if I do the same sequence again it shuts off. Thanks for the reply I’ll let you know.

This is from the owners manual. I haven’t heard of hitting lock three times. Do you have the factory equipped remote start or is it the added plug and play kit? I only know how to use the factory equipped start system.

It was dealer installed... maybe I need to call them. I absolutely despise dealers ugh but for some reason purchased from a dealer. I confirmed hitting my sequence again shuts it off. I’ll will post what the stealership tells me.

For those curious it was aftermarket. I have to bring it in but they can change it to whatever I want apparently. Thanks.

hey buddy, sorry its been a while since you posted this. the work truck i use for work (2020 f250) has this feature, the way i get around this is by jaming something in the break pedal.

So long as the break is pressed down enugh for the break lights are on, the vehicle will not automatically shut down while idling.

as u can see in this picture, my tool of choice for this is a mesuring tape but pretty well anything works

If you have the high idle mod it won't shut down with it engaged.

During an extended wait for a tow truck on the highway to change a flat on my fifth wheel I had a message come up about 30 mins into that time that said something about extended idle time and do I want to continue idling. Simple click on OK and I kept going.
