Sputtering bad

Ok guys, I have a 2000 f-250 super duty 6.8L 316000 miles, possibly clogged injector(s), I have just recently replaced all the coil packs and plugs (went with iridium) ran great for several months, bout a month ago it started to get a lil bit of a miss but not bad, it has progressively gotten worse, it’s to the point now that if I’m going at a steady speed n OD and give it gas to speed up or pass it’ll bog, drop outta OD and pick up, all the coil packs and plugs check good, I bought an injector cleaning canister and ran 3 cans of Pro Klean Injector cleaner through the fuel rail, making sure to pull the plug to the inertia switch so the fuel pump is outta the equation, still having a lot of sputtering, what would b the easiest way to check each injector for function/clogging?

First off I always use oem motorcraft plugs. I tried bosch plugs once and the truck didn't like them. That was years ago. Do you think its missing on a cyl? You can start it and check the exhaust manifold for equal heat after 20 secs of running or so..each cyl.
You can unplug each injector one at a time to get a feel for the drop to compare each cyl...you could pull coil connector also.
Describe sputtering.

Thx for the reply, the sputtering is not all the time, I can b driving along at normal speed and everything is smooth but if I start up the least bit of incline and need a bit more throttle it starts to “shudder” but if I give it more gas pedal, requiring the tranny to downshift, it’ll smooth out, also, if I try to accelerate aggressively from a stop it’ll really shudder but stop shuddering if I back off the throttle, it doesn’t seem to b a plug or coil, oh, and I forgot to mention I also cleaned the MAF sensor, and to answer the question of unplugging each injector one at a time, it’s hard to tell a difference when u have 10 cylinders going

Hate to say it but I would put oem plugs in it. and make sure it has ford coils. The symptoms could lead to either having an issue. Common to show up when you need a little more power...I had bad coils doing just that.

Did you get this figured out?

Mines doing the exact thing. Only going up hill/ under load. Thinking pump/ regulator? Haven't thought about plugs and coils only because it seems fine at idle. Let me know what u find out! Thanks!!

Great thanks!
Think I’m going to do plugs, coils, pump and regulator, clean MAF, and see where I’m at next week. Hope your issue gets resolved!

What do you mean by “pump”? You are going to replace the fuel pump? What fuel pressure did you measure at the fuel rail? How did you deduce that both the fuel pump and the regulator were faulty? Or are you hoping that throwing parts at a problem eventually leads to a fix?

If you take your time and do the correct diagnostics, you will spend less money and less of your valuable time on fixing the problem.

Trucks new to me. Doesn’t hurt to have new plugs and Coil packs, don’t know much about the history, other then it’s from a small town with only one gas station. Hoping my issue resolves with plugs and coils, otherwise will have my mechanic test fuel system, I got a feeling it’s the fuel pump/ regulator as the filter was nasty and seems worse when tank is half full or under. Thanks for your reply Dave. Any advice, I’m happy to hear it.
* had the truck 2 days with no service records or history
* just had a baby and don’t have a lot of time

Did you change the boots? From what people are saying the rubber goes bad and should be done with plugs? Check the space in the plugs before installing? Coils getting good connection?

Check connectors on coils for corrosion.
Wiggle them whilst running to see if it clears up.
