'97 F-250 flatbed for 2000 F-250?

Hello everyone!

Title pretty much says it all - I could get My hands on a very nice Knapheide Flatbed for cheap money to replace my rottet bed. I don't have much details on the truck it came off of other than that it was a 1997 F-250 with a short bed, and I am wondering if I should be able to make it work on my 2000 F-250 Supercab with a short bed without major modifications. I am not worried about re-drilling some holes and wiring and all that, but if it requires major modifications it may be too much hassle to be worth it. Bed is just a very simple flat bed, no wheel arches or anything.

Thanks already in advance,
Zax

If the frame widths are the same, then it should work.

Hmmm...would anyone know if that may be the case between '97 and 2000. The bed is a bit away, and I will have to make arrangements to transport it, so I am trying to avoid driving there more than once.

Thank you again for the help,
Zax

I built a flat bed for my 91 F350 . Used the factory bolt holes to attach it. When I got my 2008 F350 I mounted the flat bed on to it. All of the bolt holes lined up perfectly. Then I dropped the 2008 bed onto the 91 . bolted right on.

Hmmmm...sounds to Me like I should be able to make this work somehow then! I guess I might be taking this ride tomorrow!
Thanks for your reply. I hope the 250's are the same as the 350's...
