Crooked Steering Wheel
During a long vacation trip out west I noticed that my steering wheel is now crooked - probably 1 spline tooth or 5 degrees or so. It was not this way before. 8k miles on the truck. I have never hit any curbs or severe holes/bumps that would be bad enough to cause steering damage or misalignment. The truck still drives perfectly, holds the road easily, and doesn't wander or pull to either side so I don't believe this has anything to do with the steering linkages, but something in the column. I did check all 3 bolts on the column joints and they are all tight. My theory is something shifted while going over a bridge seam or something like that. I probably have a tendency to grip the wheel tight while going over bridges. Anybody else experienced this?

Didn't want to mess with the alignment but it looks like this is the only choice. My new '91 F-150 had a crooked steering wheel from the factory. Local dealer was a jerk so I moved the wheel one spline.
