The thread title says it all. I tightened the two screws on the cable plate, checked the shaft bushings and found the slop where the handle pivots in shift rod. It looks to me like the plastic block is worn down, but not having seen a new one can’t be sure. Has anyone else solved this. The shift rod The plastic block is removable
Never mind. iIn fussing with it I fixed it and all the slop is gone. First I wrapped the plastic bit with clear gorilla vinyl tape and that fixed the fore/aft play, but the rotational play was still there so I bent the tabs out a bit on the black clip and, Bobsyeruncle, it’s nice and tight now.
