Wheel well boxes.

Looking into wheel well boxes.
Seeing these trucks are sooo tall,
and I'm short, I'm leaning towards the
Undercover swing out box. But one
with drawers, would work too.

So, what do you have, and how do you like it?

After stepping on the scale and looking at my XRsys at the VA clinic this afternoon I should be shopping for a Tommy Lift. 😕

Lol. Ya, I thought my Ram was tall... I can't come close to
touching the bed while reaching over the rails.
That's why a box with drawers might work well. One that open from the top
I'd need to get in the bed to look in it.

Retired now

I don't know what I would do if I had to work out of today's trucks. Before I spotted my STX, I had the mind to order a truck without a factory bed, and buy a ranch/flat bed....add 5.5" side boards etc.

I've seen a couple new (contractor type) trucks with the shells and two doors; tailgates removed.

I use a pull stick and rain-proof totes for daily chores now, but when loading and unloading for deer/elk camp; its up and down the ladder.

I'll be interested in what you find out.

You might find a deck more useful and easier to access.

I'd really like some of those but I heard they block the bed lights and the lock handles for my soft tonneau cover...

I was going to order a pair but I'm pretty sure they will block the bed lights and the switch. I might still get one for the passenger side unless I can figure out another way to store the stuff in my toolbox with having to get about certain crossover box. If it wasn't for needing to haul my 12' boat in the box I'd just get a crossover box.

I'm cheap, and don't have the bed lights, lol.
But if they block certain tonneau cover latches, that's a issue.

I'm looking at a Magnum headache rack, which work well with between the rail
tonneau covers. My ram had a above the rails cover which had a strap
that you could grab in the middle and it released the cover.

There was a guy in northern MN selling a set of these boxes and a roll up cover for $500. They had only been on the truck for a month, if he was closer I would have bought them since that seemed like a pretty good deal.
