6 speed swap
I confronted this problem when i was toying with the idea of changing my E4od to a 5 or 6 spd. The ford six speed is unique to the Power Stroke, to many head aches to amke a scatter plate adapter which is your only option. But !!!!! You could if you have the $$$$$$ use a Dodge NV 6 speed because dodge in thier infanite wisdom still uses the age old method of Bell housings. The NV 6 spd is sold behind the cummins, so you would need to contact advanced adapters and find out if they have a way to put a NV tranny behind a 460 I was told that thier was an adapter for putting the NV 5 speed behind it and supposedly there are many similarities in the transmissions externally. I stand to be corrected but if you are determined this may give you a direction to look in. Also if you go with the NV tranny you will probably benefit from being able to mate up a NP or NV T-case. How far do you want to got and how much do you want to spend?
Best of Luck to you Buddy.
