i need a toggle switch for my remote on my amplifier im concidering putting it on the dash between the steering column and the radio where have you guys put your toggle switches for lights and things?
rigth under the radio, in the firlst "shelf" like thing. i got a whole row of switches for my strereo stuff. i also angled it more towards me. looks cool thats for damn sure.
i dont have that shelf since i have the computer and full console wish i did then i would have a whole roll of switches too i just drilled it into the dash looks cheap but oh well
Do you have the console with the kleenex space? You can take the kleenex out, put a piece across it, and mount your switches there. I have seen a few do that. That, or on the side of the console.
I am redoing my console. I am taking the coin slots out and fiberglassing across it and adding a few switches there. They will be under the lid, so they won't be seen...
i made a box out of "diamond steel" looks lke the stuff truck tool boxes are made of..i mounted it between the visors in headliner...i had to use a piece of sheet metal above the headliner to get it to hang properly...the headliner wont hold nada. but i used two "battle" switches...the kng mo9st people use for NOS...they have red saftey covers on them...
cobra i thought about doing something like that once you finish yours id appreciate it if youd show us what it looks like, i think if your imagining anything like i was then it will look pretty cool so far i only have 1 switch for 1 amp but soon ill have more for lights and another amp and a few other things
I am going to have about 5 or 6 rocker switches - I'm not sure what they will all do yet though...
Most will be to relays for the real power to certain things. I know of 2 of the switches as of now, but I am going to go ahead and put in extra switches so I don't have to cut and fab again. I'll just have to hook the switches up later. My ideas so far will be:
1) Trailer light relay so I can flash trailer lights.
2) Rear power to a trailer. (lights inside the box I mounted on my jetski trailer)
3) Auxillary amp switch
4) Inside neons and lights
5) Outside neons (if I ever install any)
I'm sure I'll have a few other things in mind also. I have a couple of rocker switches already mounted for my extra gauge lights. I have them wired to the illumination power, but I can turn them on/off at will so they are not always shining in my face off the pillar.
