Morning folks, happy Thursday (my Friday) and first day of August.
Pat - saw your comment in the other thread about the new wheels....thanks. Weld Super Single II's in 18x10, -22 offset. I'll be interested to see how that fits up on the truck, I run -12 offset now.
Craig - this is my 11th trip out there, it's still fun so I'll keep going. We used to do a big Mid-Atlantic region meet there for FTE, but that dissolved. We went from one of the biggest groups there to I think the last year we did it (2014 or 2015 maybe?) only having 10 people show up? For some it was a shift in interests, for others it was just time to move on from trucks and others the travel was too much...but, some of us still go there yet. Mostly because we have vehicles we show there.

tim good a good job packing vendors in, off the hills onto the flat rows, it created a view of a good packed swap meet and friday traffic was light...very light for some reason. I did better on dealer setup day this year!
of troublesome note, not ONE of the guys who haul in southern or western beds sold any. the trailers went out as full as they came in. this does not bode well...no one is restoring? given the costs, it does not take many losing trips for the vendors to pack it in....
we did draw our line in the sand tho, august 2023 will be my last year as retirement approaches...im working on finishing up the square sub and my old man project will likely be a square pickup, an el camino or perhaps a 86-93 fox body mustang gt.
I would not mind doing a GM A body intermediate but parts are impossible to find.
This year so few (zero) people came out that I know, that I did not even pick up my free passes...

Good band. I remember seeing them on the third stage way in the back of a big festival in Pittsburgh in the late 90's.

Howdy guys - been a hectic morning working through stuff so...
Ed, I agree that if vendors/swap meet guys are losing money, they'll stop coming. A friend of a friend was down in Vendor Row at Carlisle again this year but I'm not sure how well he did or didn't do. Show field wasn't as full as normal this year and in a real odd move many of the higher-end show trucks held out of judging due to dissatisfaction with the way Carlisle does things. So, the show definitely will have some things to work through going forward. If they're bringing BMX and MotoX acts in to fill space and such, you know they're reaching for activities to keep people's interests up....so...

I recall summer carlisle when I used to do a *lot* of shopping for customer projects...it waned so they added motorcycle and it turned into a giant SAMCRO fest....resulted in some arrests and job loss between that and the neon boom box tuner guys show.
after what they did to GM by dissing all makes and making it chevelle/camaro fest...the writing might be on the wall. If you want a swap meet, e town, canfield or even butler might be the future

While I've never been there to say one way or the other, I've heard that spring and fall Carlisle swap meets aren't bad in terms of what's there, but just poorly organized. Definitely some changes need to be made for sure in order for them to stay in the game or other events will eventually overtake them. They used to be the place to go, but options are out there now not only for swap meet but for show vehicles too.

I'm pretty sure 4wheelparts has the fox 2.0 ats steering stabilizer priced wrong. 215 shipped. Stage 3 has the same part for 418.
