Thrumming sound.
Stock 2005 Excursion Eddie Bauer 6.0 with 300k+ miles....
I'm in Michigan halfway through my yearly trip around the country and my truck just started... Sometimes... Making a deep thrumming sound and vibration when accelerating and when I get off the throttle fast.
Intermittent.
Weird.
Any ideas?

Are you feeling the vibration in the seat of your pants or steering wheel?
When was the last time you checked your pinion bearing to see if it had any play in it?
If you are on the road find a dealer or a local shop to do an inspection on your drive line.
i have had u-joints, a pinion, carrier and rear hub bearings that caused similar issues.
