Question 9" rear end

I posted in the wrong section so I have move over to you guys. I bought a 9" rear end caked in grease and road film. I payed $125.00 for the rear end and on the way home I payed the local car wash a visit. I got the tag all cleaned up and from the numbers my guess is it has 3.25 gears and I think it has a locker. I was told it came out of a 1971 Ford ranger pick up. I am putting it in my 1969 pick up. I will post pictures of the rear end. This is as clean as it got after $5.00 in the car wash. Hope the pictures help.

3,25s yes. But if it was equipped with a limited slip as OEM, the tag would read "3 L 25".

You just going to pop it in there and hope the bearings are good?

Did you drain it? As long as there is no water in it, using it "as is" is probably a worthwhile bet.

I am going to put new seals and bearings in it before I put it back, it is leaking oil from the front seal.

you are right about it does not have a locker. I did find that fordification site. I did learn something about this rearend. The WDM-S was from 63 to 72 and the owner told me it came from a 1971 truck so that I am pretty sure is correct. the 9LA on the tag I could not find anything on that other than the made a NL and L version which I dont know what that means. I did see where it is a 3.25 ratio and 28 splines but that is all I know so far. I will be installing a Detroit Locker in this rear end so I dont have trouble pulling my bass boat up the ramp since trucks are so light on the rear end. Thank you for the help with this unit.
