Looking to pick up a couple for my truck, lots of choices and a wide range of prices...any recommendations?

I use these reese cargo bars. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Reese-3-...0600/301414251 local home depot and walmart usually have them in the store. They work fine for me. They run about $22.00

I like these too, can you tell if they are steel or aluminum or something else. I couldn’t find that info in the specs

they are steel. not heavy steel but they work just fine and stay in place for me. I have 2 of them and keep them in my toolbox until I need them. I think you will find that all these ratchet style, low cost bars are pretty much the same with different names on them. They are all probably made by the same manufacturer.

They showed out of stock on home depot website.
Amazon has them for $21.83 prime. Just search reese cargo bar. 40" to 70" I just ordered 2 of them.

Recieved mine today, they seem pretty solid. I think they will work well. I'll try them out this weekend & post results.

I just used a HarborFreight one to hold a pair of 5gal gas cans still for a 1000 miles, and it did fine.

x2 on the Harbor Freight,

Looks identical to the Reese. I use it to keep storage containers in place. FWIW, I have a tonneau so I cannot attest to how well it would hold up to the elements. I'd venture to say, not well. But 15 bucks is 15 bucks.
