Hey guys it's looking like my Dodge is sold and I plan on using some of the money for wheels tires and a lift. Is there a lift that you guys recommend? I'm thinking minimum 3" but no more than 4" unless I'm persuaded. I currently have the 20" platinum wheels but would like to go with 18's and 35's or 37's. I have 3.34? gearing, something like that so I know you don't want to go to big on the tires but is there a sweet spot for lift tires and wheels with my gearing? Thanks for any advice.
I personally think these trucks look best with minimal lift, they are already tall, and a 35 really doesn't require any lift. For me, If I lift, something like a 2" BDS with 35's would be it. 3-4" with 37's might not look too bad, you'll have to get some more experienced input on whether or not that will be a problem with your gearing.
Look at my thread just above, it’s a readylift 3.5 sst I only used the front part of the kit to level my truck. 35x13.5 on -44 offset. If you’re running a less aggressive offset you could use the 2.5 leveling kit. I don’t like my trucks to have any rake in them though either.
I was told yesterday when talking to a lift and tire company that although they sell ready lift and others they don't recommend them because of the cupping on the tires. I'm not a suspension guy so I really don't know who to believe.
You can do 37’s on a 3-4 inch lift but you have to spec your wheels right. I had rubbing on my 6” lift with 37’s. Everyone is different but I absolutely hack hacking the fenders up to clear oversized tired with the wrong spec wheels. Just get the right wheels or a big enough lift.
