Has anyone used this 1973-79 Ford F100 F150 Bronco Pickup Dakota Digital HDX Black Alloy Gauge Kit ? I am debating on the upgrade and would like any feedback if someone has used this before
Yep, very nice looking but super expensive. The tachometer and speedometer ranges are the showstopper for me. 8K rpm, and 160 mph. I'd only be using about 1/3 of the needle sweeps. That's kinda course.
I like Bigfoot22's LMC setup better. Or the Classic Dash. You can pick your own gauges.

Hahaha... Ive seen this one on LMC, just never paid attention to the reading. It needs to read, 60MPH and 3500 RMP hahaha
Add up what it would cost to replicate either system yourself for the entire kit and then maybe you will change your mind.
My buddy built one like the lmc kit years before they existed and he had $600 in just materials...then hours of bench work and testing to make it a clean install...not to mention the hours spent researching places to get the needed parts and pieces.
Also one of the things i like about this setup it gets rid of the speedometer cable. With the VSS it does not matter what size tire you run or gears, it will spot on for mph

No, I won't change my mind. I can put together a unit more suited to my needs for less money. Classic Dash panel, Auto Meter gauges. But even if I couldn't do it cheaper, I'd still do it. It would drive me nuts looking at a speedometer that tops at 160 mph, when I rarely go over 60 mph. And 8000 rpm on the tach?!?! That's a hoot! The tach sweep most of us have would barley be noticeable.

The price is better,,can you post pictures when your done ?

The one I am talking about was nearly identical to the LMC panel posted by bigfoot. My buddy's cluster had autometer gauges, was fully custom as he had to draw the back plane in CAD, buy a piece of the correct ABS plastic back plate and have it laser cut to the required dimensions, then figure out the turn signal indicator details, high beam indicator details and everything else needed to make a nice, clean, professional looking install, just like the LMC kit.
Point is that it takes a lot of hours to put something like that together, and I do value my time as does my family...so for me, in my opinion, the LMC kit is fairly priced, and has a classic look to it that still fits the truck.
Regardless, I fully agree that a 6000 rpm tach and 100mph speedo would be enough for most....but an 8k tach and 140 mph speedo is enough for nearly all.
