I recently purchased a 1705 tuner for may 2000 f250 PSD.
I installed the 60hp version, and have been pulling a 13,000lb fifth wheel, with no problems.I love the added horse power, but I couldn't tell much difference in MPG. I get 19 empty and 13 pulling.
With that said, the reason I'm posting the message is because I told my friend about my 1705. And he bought one for his 99 F250 PSD.He loved it ,but after running for 3months,one morning his truck wouldn't start.
He took it the the ford dealer and the dealer said the program he put in the truck burnt up his computer.
I don't believe it, but what can you do?
Now he is without a truck, until he sends his computer back to supertuner to have it repaired.
I took my program back out, until I can find out if there is any history of the 1705 causing any problems.
I had a problem with my 1705.. it was coming up error code-6 call superchips. When i gave them a call the stated that the code-6 error was a security code problem and that the tuner could not break that code of the PCM. got the truck to run after 15 or so key cycles, however it was now stuck in the hp mode. Sent the tuner back they had it for 3 weeks, and havent had a problem sence.. If you need to call superchips talk with Bob in tech service he was very helpfull!!!!
