1983 AOD Build Date Identification
Hey guys I've got a 1983 f100 with a 300 I6 with a sick AOD behind it. I am going to rebuild it but I am having a hard time finding the right rebuild kit. From what I understand on July 19, 1983 Ford changed something in the AOD that requires two different rebuild kits, 80- early 83 and late 83-89. My ID tag reads

I know it was build on July 28th but I don't know what year. Could anyone help me out?

That's what I thought also but I've read on several of the mustang forums that E3 is coded for a 1983 model year truck. So I'm not sure if it was built July 28, 1983 or built July 28, 1982 to be put into a 1983 pickup.
